Ode to Dandelion
Oh, dandelion. The whimsical poof that many gardeners dread. Considered a weed by many, but to botanists and herbalists, a herb, a medicine, a pioneer plant.
Edible and rich in vitamin A & K, dandelions make great companion plant for gardening, adding minerals and nitrogen to the soil as well as attracting pollinating insects such as bees, which helps fruits to ripen - the cycle goes on.
It’s time to celebrate the life that began billions of years ago, long before us and shed light on the critical relationships of plants and humans. Because without them, we would not be, and will not be.
